How We Worship

How We Worship

The Pentecostals of Brownwood believes in worshipping God through many forms such as song, music, lifting of hands, etc. The bible instructs to worship in spirit and in truth, with our whole hearts, our minds, and our bodies through outward expressions of worship. We use scriptures in the bible as instruction for how we express our worship.
We pray together aloud because of
Acts 4:24

"They lifted up their voice to God with one accord"

We lift our hands in praise because of
Psalm 134:2

"Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord"

We sing with all our hearts because of
Psalm 98:4

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise"

We play musical instruments because of
2 Samuel 6:5

"And all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments"

We clap and shout unto God because of
Psalm 47
"O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph"
- Psalm 47:1
We dance before the Lord because of
Psalm 150:4

"Praise Him with the timbrel and dance..."

We anoint with oil for divine healing because of
James 5:14

"Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord"

We allow the operation of spiritual gifts because of
1 Corinthians 14:12
"Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church"
